In these states of India, a different type of corona virus was detected from the world - scientists proved

Scientists at the CCMB in Hyderabad have identified a unique feature in the corona virus in the country. Scientists at the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology in Hyderabad have discovered a new strain of corona virus (SARS-CoV2) in people infected with corona in the country. Scientists claim that this southern state is currently more prevalent in southern states like Tamil Nadu and Telangana.

They have named this special group of virus populations found in 41% of the genome sequences in India as 'CLADE-A3i'. CCMB tweeted that a new reprint of the genome sequence of the spread of SARS-COV2 has been found in India. The result represents a special group of the virus population, which was not yet identified. It is present in large quantities in India, called Clade A3i.

It said the group originated during transmission in February 2020 and spread across India. 41% of all genome samples of SARS COV2 in India have been confirmed and found in 3.2% of the world's samples. CCMB is a laboratory under the Scientific as well as Industrial Council.

Most of the samples from Telangana and Tamil Nadu are like CLADE-A3i

The CCMB further said that the group was born with the virus in February 2020 and spread across the country. It accounts for 41 per cent of all samples of the SARS-CoV2 genome for India and three and a half per cent of the World Genome. CCMB comes under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research. Rakesh Mishra, director of CCMB and co-author of the research paper, said most of the samples taken for Telangana and Tamil Nadu are similar to Clade A3I. He said that the spread of corona in India in most of the samples dates back to its early days.

There are some similarities in the samples taken from Delhi but no similarities in the samples from Maharashtra and Gujarat. Genome sequences of more samples will be prepared in the coming days which will help in getting more information on the subject.

Here is a fresh preprint on genome analysis of SARS-CoV2 spread in India. The results show that a distinct cluster of virus population, uncharacterized thus far, which is prevalent in India - called the Clade A3i. (1/2)https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.05.31.126136v1

Similar types are found with the Philippines and Singapore "There are some similarities between the samples taken in Delhi, but no similarities with the samples from Maharashtra and Gujarat," Mishra said. This type of corona virus is similar to the case found in Singapore and the Philippines.

He said he would prepare a genome sequence of more samples in the coming days and this would help in getting more information on the subject. At the same time, it is said that this is the first comprehensive study to show the characteristics of the isolated and highly available group of SARS-CoV2 in India.
