How to use Google pay: A complete guide

Google Pay is a new Google app for online money transactions which makes your life much easier. It is basically a digital payment app that helps you get up and run in no time.

 Previously this app was known as Google Tez. Through this Google app, you can simply send and receive money to anyone using a mobile.

You just need to enter the amount and tap, pay to make payments. This app will work even if the receiver is not on Google Pay with a zero fee affair.

Steps: How to open a Google pay account

Step 1: Open the Google play, store and download the 'Google Pay app'.

Step 2: Then select your preferred language and tap on the arrow (Placed in the right corner).

Step 3:Enter your phone number registered with the bank account (Allow your SMS, contacts and location).

Step 4: After that, it will automatically detect your email id, click on 'Continue'.

Step 5: A one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your mobile number, let the app access it manually.

Step 6: After that, you have to choose the screen lock or you can create a Google pin. Select the

option and click on 'Continue'.

Step 7: Set up your Google screen lock or pin.

Step 1: After completing the initial steps to open the app, tap on your name at the top of the screen.

Step 2: A new page will appear asking you to 'Add Bank Account,' tap on it.

Step 3: Numerous options will be displayed, choose your 'Bank name' from the list.

Step 4: After selecting a bank, a pop-up will appear, tap 'Allow'.

Step 5: Another pop-up will appear showing the account link, click 'Ok'.

Step 6: A verification SMS will be sent; after that, your mobile number will be verified and after

that your account. It is totally an automated process.

Step 7: After verification, a new page will be displayed. Now tap on 'Enter UPI PIN' to link the New Bank account.

Step 8: As you enter the UPI PIN, the bank account would be linked to the Google Pay app.

If you have your UPI PIN, you can use that as well:

1.Click on 'Don't know your UPI PIN?'

2.After that, you have to enter your last 6 digits of your ATM or debit card with expiry date.

3.After that, tap on an arrow, on the right corner. The OTP will be sent to your number.

4.Now you have to enter your ATM pin and at last, tap on the correct sign.

5.Now you have to set your UPI PIN.

6.You will get a text message that your UPI PIN has been set.

How to send money to someone through Google Pay?

1. How to send money to someone nearby:

Step 1: Open 'Google Pay app' on both phones.
Step 2: The sender needs to slide the circle in the middle of the screen up towards 'Pay'. Similarly, the person who is going to receive the money needs to slide the circle down.
Step 3: When it appears, tap on their profile photo. If you don't see their photo: Go to the home screen, tap more and scan QR code. Ask the receiver to pull up their QR code so that you can scan it.)
Step 4: Enter the amount and description, and select the form of payment.
Step 5: Tap Proceed to pay.
Step 6: Enter your UPI PIN.

You will receive a notification once the payment has been made.

2. Send money to someone anywhere in India:

Step 1: Open your Google Pay account
Step 2: Tap a contact to make a payment. If you don't see the person that you want to send money to, tap on 'New Payment' on the home screen and tap the third option 'Bank transfer.' Enter all the Bank details and tap 'Continue.'
Step 3: Tap 'Pay' and enter the amount with description (what's this for?)
Step 4: Tap Proceed to pay.
Step 5: Enter your UPI PIN.

How to check the Google pay balance?

Step 1: Open Google Pay.
Step 2: Scroll down and tap on 'Check Balance'.
Step 3: Enter your UPI PIN. If you can't view your account balance. You can create a new one.

 

How to reset your Google pay UPI?

In case for any reason you forget your UPI PIN, you can create a new one in no time. You just need your debit card details and need to follow a few steps to create a new UPI PIN.

Step 1: Open Google Pay
Step 2: In the top left, tap your photo.
Step 3: Then tap on 'Payment Methods.'
Step 4: After that tap the bank account you want to edit.
Step 5: Again tap on 'Forgot UPI PIN?'.
Step 6: Enter the last 6 digits of your debit card number, and the expiry date.
Step 7: Create a new UPI PIN.
Step 8: Enter the OTP you get by SMS.

In case if you want to change your UPI PIN, you need to follow these steps:

Step 1: Open Google Pay.
Step 2: In the top left, tap your photo.
Step 3: Tap 'Payment Methods'.

Step 6: Three options will appear, tap on 'Change UPI PIN.'
Step 7: Create a new UPI PIN, re-enter the PIN to confirm.

 

How to close your Google pay account?

 

If you no longer want to use Google Pay you can delete your Google Pay account:

Step 1: Open Google Pay
Step 2: In the top-left corner, tap your profile photo.
Step 3: Then tap 'Close account.'
