The rise in petrol and diesel prices continued for the fourth day in a row. Due to this, the price of petrol in the country's capital Delhi also came down to Rs 74.40 per liter.
As well as diesel started selling at 71.62 per liter. In Delhi, petrol became costlier by Rs 2.14 per liter and diesel by Rs 2.23 per liter for four consecutive days.
According to Indian Oil's website, petrol prices in Delhi, Calcutta, Mumbai and Chennai rose to Rs 73.40, Rs 75.36, Rs 80.40 and Rs 77.43 per liter, respectively, on Wednesday.
Diesel prices also rose to Rs 71.62, Rs 67.73, Rs 70.35 and Rs 70.13 per liter in four metros respectively.

How much prices had risen on Tuesday
In Delhi, Calcutta, Mumbai and Chennai, petrol prices were hiked by 54 paise, 63 paise, 52 paise and 48 paise, respectively, on Tuesday. Diesel prices rose by 58 paise, 62 paise, 55 paise and 49 paise, respectively, in the four metros.
Let me tell you that petrol and diesel prices are not being reviewed on a daily basis. Now, after about 30 days, daily value research has started once again.
